Nice try, creep.

A series of sordid sexual advances.

About

What began as an innocent foray into the world of online dating quickly turned into a degenerate parade of quirky, amusing, odd and nauseating characters vying for female attention.

Armed with nothing but bad grammar, hackneyed wit, frippery and pornographic pickup lines, these men set out with the steely determination borne of desperation, and the belief that the Law of Averages has got to come through for them sometime.

Are these men just as creepy in real life? We’ll never know for sure. However, it’s clear that many of them think that the anonymity of the internet gives them the right to pursue women in ways that (we hope) they ordinarily wouldn’t dare.

Online dating is stigmatized enough without these characters. No one ever wants to admit to having a profile on PlentyofFish, or OkCupid, or eHarmony… but a lot of us do, and for different reasons. We know several couples who met online – happy, normal, lovely couples. It’s definitely doable. What hopefuls must bear in mind is that dating online is as legitimate as dating in “real life”, and so that first message, that first attempt at contact, better be good.

If it’s not, it just might end up on this website.

NiceTryCreep is a collection of first contact failures, ranging from the poorly executed to the grossly inappropriate. We hope that in posting this information publicly, these individuals (and others like them) will eventually learn something about love, life, and how to hit on women.

Note 1: While the messages we receive come mostly from men, we realize that women can be awfully creepy as well. If you’ve received an atrocious attempt at contact, regardless of sex/gender, please send it our way.

Note 2: We use pseudonyms so that our profiles do not get spammed. Our aim is to only post messages written in earnest.
